Somewhere the grass has stopped growing forever
But not outside in area nine where we all met for the fire drill.
The fire drill was announced and of course I shoved myself to the front of the crowd, pushing children out of the way as I scurried to safety. We all spiraled out of the staircase in the 900 building as if a giant toilet had flushed and we were all swept into the sewer of the field.
Once outside I pretended to take attendance, all the while secretly hoping that I would be missing people. Alas everyone made it out and to the muster point, proving once again that although I may try to fight my hero nature, I cannot overcome what I am. Once again I saved everyone from the pretend danger.
Prior to that I worked with the FBI to stage a surveillance during the lunches. My kids were outside and I watched as they participated in what I dubbed "Operation Cypress Bay 21 Jumpstreet". The kids (pretend FBI agents) surveilled five actual agents engaged in a simulated corporate espionage caper. I don't know if anyone noticed the oddly older new students wandering the campus today. One was hilariously carrying a giant envelope that said "secret formula" on it. At least they had a sense of humor and the kids blended in like chameleons.
I probably won't be in school on Friday. The DECA kids are gone and I really don't think the quiz was hard enough. I'm going to need to focus on making it MUCH harder for B day. That will take time. The A day kids were getting pretty good scores and I'm against that sort of thing.
