Gold Day. Formerly A Day. Day 63.

Today I made children sad. In turn, they made me sad. I was compared to a cleaning mascot, and was subject to multiple insults insinuating I was more seal than man. At the end of the day I am still the one that has unfettered access to your scantrons. It would be a shame if something happened to the shaded bubbles...

I also noticed an interesting phenomenon. I removed all the phones and computers from my AP classes and students immediately shut down like un-charged robots. I have a bookcase in my room, but perhaps the fear of reading something controversial has made my students overly cautious. Perhaps they are just illiterate.

I gave my FBI class a research assignment that will probably get them all a serious look from the actual FBI when they start Googling "Anthrax" and "what are the goals of terrorists?" Hopefully they return to class on Tuesday.

I forgot to tell my fourth period class that I assigned homework. They may do it. I hope they will. It will be graded either way, however the only one showing any interest in that particular class lately is the fly that refuses to leave my room. I am naming the fly Marcelo, for no particular reason. I'm glad to have a Marcelo in the class that is actually active and relevant. Marcelo can be annoying, but at least he is awake.
