Day 55

All of my plans have been tossed into the well of apathy. However if I look hard enough I see a shadowy figure crawling back skyward, looking for the light from the depth. The longer you put off the test, the more the menace grows, and if you've ever seen the "Ring" the reference will terrify you.

I'm imagining now the planning meeting that went on at Cambridge University last year some time. "Is there some way to make sure that the kids have an AICE test every day of the year, starting in October?"

"Of course there is."

I'm creating Petraitis' laws today. These are the first two. I will continue to add to them.

  1. Every student that does math homework in my class, will at some point feel compelled to turn in late government homework at some point in the semester.

  2. Every bathroom pass issued stimulates another, separate bathroom request.

I hold fast to the idea that solitude is freedom and if I plant my figurative garden successfully, all of the plants will wither on the vine, and I will be an unsuccessful gardener, but a content one. Slowly, as people ignore my requests to finish homework, I will cut the roots of time allowed until all assignments are due at inconvenient times and all students drop leaving me in luxurious silence in a room as desiccated as the Sahara, but as silent as it as well.
