B Day September 15th

Freshman Study Hall: The Freshman Study Hall was shortened today, much like the Freshmen themselves. Then it was over and the challenges began.

Period 6, U.S. History Honors seems to think we are enemies. Did I postpone a test? Yes. Did I show a movie? Yes. Yes I did. However most of the class chose to work on a mini-book I assigned to them that is not due until Monday. As always weirdos came in late and then decided they could just greet all of their friends and treat me like an 18th century school teacher that somehow wants them to fail or be eaten by wild beasts. I want none of that but the two people that show up late everyday seem to think this is the way the class should go. Honestly the attitude pouring out of sixth period is toxic. Really.

Period 7 watched the movie and actually seemed to care. We will take the test when next we meet.

Period 8 debated whether the actor that plays Hector Salamanca was white or black. He is in fact Jewish. I guess that still doesn't answer the question. One of my students proudly proclaimed that they make more today than a black Civil War soldier from 1862. I'm proud of him but it's disturbing to think he has such little understanding of inflation.
