B Day October 13th
The age of light is fading and the world is under the dictatorship of darkness. Is what I would say if I had to judge the future based on Freshman Study Hall. What great sculptor of generations has cast such half hearted chisel marks onto the marble of eternity? During the course of the hour they have ingested enough sugar to create one million colonies of bees. But unlike bees they offer nothing but carbon dioxide and the promise of a day lost in the rage of quick energy and the fitful sleep that will leave them draped across the desks of other teachers like cast away blankets.
U.S. History Honors: B day makes me believe the term "Honors" is just an inside joke that keeps the guidance counselors laughing to themselves while quietly investing in private prisons. Perhaps I should talk to my financial advisor. At any rate they took the quiz on Westward Expansion and although it was easy enough for a well educated sloth to pass, they still complained.
U.S. History General: I did the WAVES activity with them, and happily stopped every 12 seconds to say: "Yes, that's fine." I feel as if someone has undermined their sense of confidence at some point and although I don't mind answering the questions to ease their troubled sense of self-worth, we would get a lot more done if only they believed in themselves as much as I believe in them.
