B Day January 17th

The beginning of death is birth and so the leaf spiraled one more time in it's fall from spring. That was my weekend.

Freshman study hall begins again today. Today they are speaking about failed relationships and awkward grasps at companionship. They give love unrequited and they refuse to return others affection and I know all of this against my will. I know about their first loves and every story reminds me of a puppy that was played with in the store but ultimately rejected.

U.S. History begins again today with a deeper dive into the U.S. as a world power and the conclusion of the many wars that apparently define us. In a world that values warriors the poets need to learn the lexicon of the passions that cause men to craft swords. The world is littered with bodies and the libraries with eulogies. And we continue. Welcome semester 2.

Also I saw a coyote last week. It was dark but I think it winked at me. I was happy for a moment.
