A Suburban Holiday Miracle Part 3

Mrs. Hoggingham stared at Mrs. Manatee. Hannity Manatee squirmed in the shopping cart and Vanity Manatee tried to blend in with the potatoes.

Mrs. Hoggingham was angry. She was angry that she had spent her whole life working to retire and quite honestly the stress of relaxing was creating new stress. She was angry that part of her pool was too deep and the rest of it was too shallow. She was angry that her electric car was good for the environment. She was angry because she didn't have any other emotions that she recognized and it was the one emotion that gave her pleasure. She was angry now at Mrs. Manatee and her silly manatee children and the fact that they had lettuce and she didn't. But she also had a plan. Maybe lettuce stuffed manatee would be even more delicious than just lettuce. Perhaps she would have the lettuce and also teach those horrid Manatees a lesson.

Mrs. Manatee did not like the way that Mrs. Hoggingham was looking at her and her children. She didn't like that she was alone at the supermarket while her husband Todd Manatee was at home floating aimlessly (he needed to stay in practice). For a moment she was afraid. But Mrs. Hoggingham was suddenly very kind.

"Why don't you come over to the house with your children? I'd love for you to see the kitchen. I have a giant oven that is so big you can't even see all the way to the back. Maybe you could try though..."

Mrs. Manatee attempted to see the good in everyone. She felt uncomfortable, but ever since the move she really hadn't made any connections. Perhaps she should have dinner with Mrs. Hoggingham.

"Fine, Mrs. Manatee", Mrs. Manatee said. I'll just load these groceries into my manee van. I'll follow you back to your place."

Vanity Manatee looked over at baby Hannity Manatee. Hannity had a carrot stuck in his nose. She looked at her mother. Her mother looked guarded. She looked at her phone and immediately became distracted and was absolutely useless from that point on.

The manatees were in danger. Whenever a manatee anywhere is in danger, Sanatee Claus can see them from his home all the way in the far north of Manatee Land, Port St. Lucie. He need to help the Manatee family and he needed to be quick. He called out to his helpers, the otters that ran his workshop. "Get my magic flying jet ski! The Manatee family is in danger!"
