A Day September 12th

Today I once again sat in the parking lot delaying the inevitable trek to the top floor of the 900 building. Eventually I reached my room and decided that the weekend had been too short and the world owed me for this injustice.

U.S. History Honors worked on Civil War Mini-Books. The instructions are on Canvas. We listened to sad piano music and watched a YouTube video on mini-books repeatedly. I also talked to several troubled youth about fishing.

AICE Global A and AS level also worked on mini-books. Those instructions are also on Canvas. We had a delightful lunch and then we continued working. One group left my personal gel pens in a jumbled mess and then dumped their garbage on the floor before leaving. This is the second time they have done this and I have formulated strong opinions about their character. I realize that they probably treat the whole population of their world as if those they meet are servants in the fantasy they live in. Someday these people may hold onto their wealth but they can cast away any security in the transactional relationships they forge out of convenience. They can only judge the foundation of their friendships on the strength of their own characters, and surely they know the shallowness of their own spirits. Not even deep enough to drown an ant. Of course there is still time for them to learn to treat others as equals and not glorified nannies.
