A Day September 1

At the start of all things there is a place you can say "I started here." If feels as if I have always just woken up in the middle of two places and I am confused as to why I am and if I ever had a direction. It is as if I fell into the stream as a leaf, floating to an unknown ocean with no memory of ever having been part of the forest canopy.

U.S. History Honors took a quiz today and then we discussed the finer points of Abraham Lincoln's Proclamation of Amnesty and Reconstruction. Some people pretended to be interested because they are kind and they don't want to see a man's dreams melt before them like candle wax. So they stare and take notes. I admire their compassion. Oh, and the Gettysburg Address assignment is due Friday.

AICE Global Perspectives AS Level has begun to see things from a global perspective which seems fitting as it is in the name of the class. We all chose two countries to study. No one could have the same country as another so this created a bit of a bidding war. I found this amusing and I encouraged it. Next class I am going to pretend no one had Singapore, and watch how that unfolds.
