A Day August 22nd
1st hour U.S. History Honors caught me a little off guard today. I started another power point before realizing I hadn't finished the first. Either way I will continue to shovel information at you as if I was feeding elephants at the zoo. We completed the Course and Consequences of the Civil War lecture. I also explained how I would approach the PERSIA vocabulary lessons. Keep the information simple but relevant. I then finished the History Hunger Games we started last class with a clear winner. She will receive her points shortly. I sat at my desk and listened to Radiohead for the rest of the class. I assume everyone worked on homework. I continue to have these delusions, yet I do not give up hope.
AICE Global Perspectives had an assignment about Pathos, Ethos and Logos. You were separated into groups and given an article to read. THIS one. This was meant to serve two purposes. I think everyone is pretty clear on what Pathos, Ethos and Logos are, but this forced you to work in groups, cite sources and communicate effectively. To some extent there was deconstruction and reconstruction, and honestly this AICE stuff just gets to me in not a good way. I will not falter though in my path to be a facilitator. I was for some time distracted by what appeared to be a delicious piece of bread being eaten just feet from me.
The rest of my U.S. History Honors classes did some version of the top of this post. The only difference being that period 2 started the History Hunger Games while all other classes finished them.
I briefly spoke with Coach Monks in teacher planning about moving to Ireland. I am keeping this option open.
