B Day!

Today we began our experiment in communism! Group work, the golden child of the school board, the bane of thinking individuals and introverts! At any rate, here is what we did. I separated the class into five groups and gave each group a topic. They are: Buffalo Soldiers, Exodusters, Transcontinental Railroad, Wounded Knee, California Gold Rush.

You worked in expert groups to learn your topics and then split into teaching groups. Each member of the group then taught their lesson to the new group. There will be a quiz on Thursday September 19th, based on these topics and Westward Expansion Vocabulary 1. If you feel you didn't learn much in class from your peers, you can and should read the online articles.

Also, don't forget to use the PERSIA technique to complete your vocabulary which is also due.
