A Day!

Today was ridiculous. A LOT of people had issues with Edmodo. We took a vocabulary quiz, and I collected the vocabulary. We were supposed to do an activity in class but only 4th hour managed to make it that far. So...here is what we need to do. We need to learn how to analyze political cartoons. WAVES is an acronym that stands for Words, Actions, Visuals, Emotions and Summary. To do WAVES you look at the cartoon and first write down any words you see. Just list them. All of them. Then describe any action taking place. Then describe any visuals (Giant Eagle etc.) Then emotions. Are people angry, happy etc. Finally summarize the cartoon. What was the author trying to get across? For the sake of staying on schedule I'm assigning you WAVES. Go to my web page and find the tab that says Civil War and Reconstruction. Under that there is a yellow tab that says "WAVES Civil War" Click that and you will see two cartoons. Follow the above instructions for both of them. I'll go over this in class with you, but you need to try your best.
