B Day!
Today time stretched. In my infinite circle of time I surfed Einstein's dilemma and seemed to slip backwards rather than fall forward. Eternity is not forever. It is all time experienced as one instant. Today was that. Infinite and small. Petty even. And yet it was an ever expanding racing of light to the outer edges of nothing and I was lost in the middle with my students and their computers. I digress.
I started the day with a review of the vocabulary. No problem there. Then we took the vocabulary quiz. Some people got dropped from Edmodo, others forgot passwords. Irritating but no big deal. After the vocabulary quiz I directed the class to my website for some awesome activities. Alas, I was foiled. First roadblock was my fault. I failed to link the assignment on my website. (I took care of this, and after two attempts it was finally there.) I instructed the class to visit the website. However the School Board of Broward County has seen fit to CENSOR ME! It's all good. Second hour engaged in some light hacking and we were back. Some people still couldn't get to the assignment but they can from home. OK. Several things. There is a link on Edmodo called Civil War Discussion. This is due on Friday for all classes at 11:45 PM. You should answer the questions by going to the web page linked on my site "A Brief Overview of the Civil War". When you answer the discussion questions you should choose "text" in the Edmodo discussion bubble. You are the "tech" generation. Figure it out. THEN I assigned the Gettysburg Address Assignment (also on my site). Follow the instructions. I will post a Gettysburg Address quiz on Edmodo. When I do it will be due Wednesday for A day Thursday for B day. So...The Civil War discussion is pretty straightforward. The Gettysburg Address has TWO things to turn in. The questions are turned in to me on paper, and the quiz on the Gettysburg Address is due on Wednesday for A day and Thursday for B day. Petraitis Out!
